WOODLAKE PRIDE

"To facilitate community activism through modest beautification projects to improve and sustain the quality of life in Woodlake."

Woodlake PRIDE coalition is a unique volunteer organization dedicated to involving the youth of Woodlake in innovative beautification projects throughout the community.  The first projects completed by Woodlake PRIDE are the beautiful floral displays established at the four major entrances to Woodlake.  These displays spell out "WOODLAKE" in a variety of flowering plants.

The organization also established a community garden on Valencia Blvd. near Magnolia Street.  A variety of fruits and vegetables are grown on this plot, which the group then sells at a booth located at the site.

The coalition's current project is a 13.7-acre demonstration garden located on the north side of Bravo Lake.  The group plans to transform this plot of former railroad right-of-way into a display garden that showcases the incredible variety of crops and ornamental plants that grow in the San Joaquin Valley.  Paths will lead visitors through the garden with labels identifying the various crops, shrubs and trees.  The City has also attained money to establish a pedestrian trail within the right-of-way.  Ultimate plans call for a pedestrian trail that would encircle the entire lake.

Woodlake PRIDE is a wonderful example of concerned citizens coming together to make their city a better place.  For more information on Woodlake PRIDE, call 559.685.3309 or 559.280.2483.
